Every Second Counts

One fine morning, I sat staring at my unfinished notebook while the clock on the wall kept ticking — tick-tock, tick-tock. I had wasted almost an hour scrolling through my phone. My exam was just a week away, but my motivation was nowhere to be found.

That’s when my teacher quietly came to my desk. She didn’t scold me. She just said one line —
“Ravi, even the richest man on earth cannot buy back a single second that has passed.”
Those words hit me hard. That night, I decided to change the way I treated time.

The next morning, I made a small timetable — not a perfect one, but a sincere one. I began with 10 minutes of study, then 5 minutes of break, and slowly increased it day by day. I noticed something magical — I wasn’t just completing my work; I was feeling confident and proud.
Time, I realized, is not our enemy. It’s our silent friend — guiding us, reminding us, and shaping our future. The earlier we respect it, the better our journey becomes. Every second matters, and if we waste it, we are wasting a part of our life.
Here’s what I realized about time, put into words I can always remember:
Time is a river that flows and flies,
You blink your eyes — and it silently dies.
A moment wasted, a chance undone,
The clock still ticks, for everyone.
Dreams are built when hours are used,
The lazy lose, the wise are fused.
Each second whispers, “Rise, don’t wait,”
For time rewards those who create.
So start today, be firm, be true,
Make time your friend — it walks with you.
Life will shine, success will climb,
If you just respect this Gift Called Time.
