2025 INDIA-PAKISTAN CONFLICT : PAHALGAM ATTACK – OPERATION SINDOOR

The 2025 Pahalgam attack was a terrorist attack on tourists by five-armed terrorists near Pahalgam where militants killed twenty-six people of our country on 22nd April 2025. The militants targeted Hindu tourists.
India suspended Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, closed major borders between the two countries, banned travel of all Pakistan nationals to India.
After 16 days, on 7th May, Indian Armed Forces- Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy launched an operation called Operation Sindoor, striking nine targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. India stated that this operation was a response for the attack of Phalgam. According to Indian Armed Forces the missile strike of Operation Sindoor targeted the infrastructure and the camps of the militants Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba and in this attack neither Pakistani military base nor Pakistani civilians were targeted. For this attack on 10th
May, Pakistan launched an operation codenamed Bunyan al-Marsus.

7th MAY
On 7th May Indian Armed Forces launched an operation called Operation Sindoor and it was a series attack targeting Pakistan 9 places. Sr.no PLACES City

This attack was conducted by the Rafale aircraft of Indian Air Force using SCALP missiles and the AASM Hammer glide bombers over a 23 min duration. Indian Armed Forces used Brahmos cruise missile.

8th May
In response to Indian Armed Forces attack, Pakistan launched drones and missile strikes across several Indian cities, like Amritsar and India repelled these attacks successfully by using S-400 Sudarshan chakra and Akash air defence system. India also responded with SEAD/DEAD operations, targeting Pakistani Air defense systems – HQ-9 air-defense system. This system deployed in Lahore and LY-80 radar system in Gujranwala were destroyed. India later mentioned that these attacks of Pakistan were through Turkish-Asisguard Songar, 300-400 drones targeting thirty-six sites, including civilian and military infrastructure.

9th May
On 9th May, exchanges of artillery fire near LOC- Line of control in Kashmir occurred, including  Kupwara, Poonch, Uri, and Samba. India also said that a Pakistani attack on a gurdwara in Poonch led to the death of a religious Sikh leader. And Pakistan reported that they targeted twenty-six locations across LOC and International Border from the Baramulla in the North to Bhuj in the South with drones including armed ones. INS Vikrant was deployed in Arabian sea. The deployed Naval force consisted of surface combatants, destroyers, frigates, anti-submarine and warfare ships and as well as naval aircrafts and submarines armed with supersonic cruise missiles such as (Brahmos). Indian Naval force was positioned 300-400 metres from Karachi port of Pakistan.

10th May
On 10th May India accused Pakistan of launching missiles on Indian air bases in Punjab at 2:00am and at 3:30am India replied by attacking Pakistani air bases like (Nur Khan, Rafiqi and Murid). After this Indian missile strikes Pakistan launched a cyber-attack and as part of this operation, it targeted Indian military satellites and government websites. And after that Indian media claimed that Pakistan launched a missile called Fatah-II, a guided artillery rocket aimed at the Indian Capital Delhi,

India counter attacked by destroying Pakistan air bases. The Indian Army released images of a missile attack by Pakistan using Baykar YIHA III Loitering munition which was destroyed by Indian Air defense system. These drones were used to target civilian areas in Amritsar at around 5 am. India claimed that it conducted airstrikes on Pakistan Air Base at Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim yar khan Airport along the Western Front. The strike also targeted military sites in Sukkur, Chunia and a radar system in Pasrur and the Sialkot aviation base. India also said that that it had damaged Air bases at Skardu, Sargodha, Jacobabad, and Bholari in
Pakistan.
